Vaccination certification
You rely on your pharmacist for helpful information on health concerns and medications, but did you know that many pharmacists are also trained and certified to give flu shots?
Thousands of pharmacists across the country have completed a certification-training program called Pharmacy–Based Immunization Delivery, sponsored by the American Pharmacists Association. This accredited program includes1:
- 12 hours of self–study with a self-assessment test
- 8 hours of a live training seminar followed by a final exam
- Hands-on assessment of injection technique
In other words, when you stop in your local pharmacy for your flu shot, you're in the hands of a trained vaccination provider.
